Shen Zhengping is currently the dean of the Huaihai Development Research Institute. He is the subdecanal for the “One Belt, One Road” Research Institute of Jiangsu Normal University. He is a doctoral tutor and a second-level professor. In 2005 and 2006, he was identified the leader of the key construction discipline of Jiangsu Province and the “Regional Economics” discipline. In 2008, he was appointed as the chief expert of Jiangsu Philosophy and Social Science Research Base. In 2009, it was designated as the Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center - "Jiangsu Normal University Regional Economic and Management Comprehensive Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center", In 2011, he was designated as the leader of Applied Economics and the chief expert of Jiangsu Provincial Decision Consulting Research Base. In 2013, he was designated as the first batch of leaders of the outstanding innovative team of philosophy and social sciences in Jiangsu colleges and universities to study the Regional Policy and Jiangsu Regional Coordinated Development Research. In 2014, it was designated as the subject leader of the Regional New Urbanization Development for Jiangsu University Superior Discipline Construction Project. In 2016, it was identified as the chief expert of Jiangsu Provincial Normal University's “One Belt, One Road” Research Institute. He was vice president of Huaihai Development Research Institute in 2003 and vice dean of School of urban and environment, Jiangsu Normal University,President of Urban and Environmental College in 2008 and President of Huaihai Development Research Institute in 2009. He served as executive vice president of the "one belt and one road" Research Institute of Jiangsu Normal University in 2015. Major part-time academic positions include: Vice-Chairman of the National Economic Geography Research Association, Executive Director of the China Urban Economic Association, Executive Director of the China Regional Science Association, Vice-Chairman of the Jiangsu Regional Development Research Association and Vice-Chairman of the Jiangsu Urban Economic Association; and appointed as decision-making consultant expert of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. More than 10 provincial and provincial level scientific research and teaching awards have been obtained.
