In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities.
China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE), is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs.

2-3 years for Master programs
3-4 years for PhD program
Type of Scholarships
1. Bilateral Program (Type A)
This includes full or partial scholarships in accordance with the educational exchange agreements or consensus between the Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities or international organizations. It supports undergraduate students, graduate students, general scholars and senior scholars.
Applicants shall apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of their home countries.

2. Chinese University Program (Type B)
This is a full scholarship for designated Chinese universities and certain provincial education offices in specific provinces or autonomous regions to recruit outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. It only supports undergraduates, postgraduate students and doctoral students.
Applicants shall apply to the designated Chinese universities undertaking this program.

Qualifications
1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health. The applicants must be abide by the laws of the Chinese government and the regulations of Jiangsu Normal University.
2. Applicants for Master programs should be under the age of 35 and hold a bachelor’s degree;
3. Applicants for PhD programs should be under the age of 40 and hold a master’s degree
4. Applicants for English-taught programs should have minimum score 75 in TOEFL or 6.0 overall band in IELTS (English native speakers are exempted).
Application Procedure
1. Apply to Jiangsu Normal University.
2. Complete the online application procedure at CGS Information Management System for International Students (Visit “https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login” to log in), submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship.
The Agency Number of JSNU is 10320.
3. Apply online at http://admission.jsnu.edu.cn/,and submit all your application documents to JSNU before the deadline.
4. The result of the review will be released through email from JSNU after the CSC’s final approval.

Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
3. Academic transcripts (written in Chinese or English);
Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
4. A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in English);
This should be a minimum of 800 words for postgraduate program applicants.
5. Curriculum Vitae;
6. Two Recommendation Letters (written in English or Chinese);
Applicants must submit two recommendation letters signed by professors or associate professors.
7. Front page of the valid passport;
8. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy) (The original copy will be kept by yourself and the form is uniformly printed by Chinese healthy quarantine departments. It must be written in English and can be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or http://www.campuschina.org).
The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.
9. TOEFL/IELTS transcript;
10. Other supporting materials, such as publications, awards, certificate of employment/internship, etc.;

COVERAGE and STANDARD
1. Full Scholarship covers
· Tuition fee
· Accommodation fee (usually a twin room).
· Stipend
Undergraduate students: CNY 2,500 per month;
Master’s students/general scholars: CNY 3,000 per month;
Doctoral students/senior scholars: CNY 3,500 per month.
· Comprehensive medical insurance.
2. Partial scholarship covers
One or some items of the full scholarship.
