Chinese culture is colorful, extensive and profound, and each city is imprinted with its unique cultural memory. The culture of Jiangsu Province is represented by “Wu Yun” and “Han Feng”. As the hometown of Liu Bang, the ancestor of Han Dynasty, and the representative city of Han culture in Jiangsu Province, Xuzhou has been committed to publicizing and promoting Han culture all over the world. On May 8th, Xuzhou People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries launched a series of Chinese culture experience activities for foreign friends in Xuzhou. 15 foreign teachers and students from JSNU experienced the charm of Chinese culture in this event.

At the launching ceremony of the Han cultural experience series, Xu Donghai, member of the Standing Committee and publicity minister of the Xuzhou Municipal Party Committee, said in his speech that civilizations are colorful and enriched by exchanges and mutual learning. The purpose of this activity is to strengthen national people-to-people exchanges, help foreign friends to better understand and integrate into Xuzhou, and spread Chinese culture.

The foreign teachers and students visited the Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses of the Han Dynasty. The terracotta warriors and horses of the Han Dynasty in Xuzhou pay more attention to the freeh and expression of characters on the basis of realism. Sculptors use different figures and faces to create different images of soldiers.

The display and experience of Hanfu made foreign teachers and students deeply fascinated and eager to try. Dressed in Hanfu, foreign teachers and students experienced the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.

Finally, the foreign teachers and students came to the Hubushan Ancient Residents Scenic Area, and visited the Xiangyu Horse Terrace and Quanjian Memorial Archway. Under the guidance of the teacher in the folk museum, they visited and experienced the intangible cultural heritage and folk culture such as paper-cutting, making dough figures, embroidering sachets, and listening to Xuzhou traditional wooden clappers opera.

More than 70 foreign experts, their relatives and international students in Xuzhou were invited to participate in the Han cultural experience series. They visited the Han culture scenic spots, learned about Han culture in Xuzhou, experienced the traditional folk culture, thus enhancing communication and exchanges, and seeking common development and cooperation, so that the traditional culture can build a bridge for international exchanges.
