On December 2nd, the 2021 Sino-Russian Education Alliance Conference (China-Russia Teacher Education Forum), sponsored by the Sino-Russian Education Alliance of Universities and organized by Central China Normal University, was held online. The theme of this forum is “Teacher Education Reform and Innovation in the Era of Artificial Intelligence”. Fang Jun, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, leaders of 21 universities of the Sino-Russian Education Alliance, heads of international exchanges, experts and scholars attended the conference. Professor Cen Hong, Vice Party Secretary of CPC JSNU Committee, leaders of the International Cooperation and Communication Office and School of Education Science joined the meeting. Peng Shuangjie, Vice President of Central China Normal University, presided over the opening ceremony.
Deputy Director-General Fang Jun pointed out in his speech that the exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia in the field of education are getting closer and closer in the new century. Since its establishment, the Sino-Russian Education Alliance has organized various bilateral activities and made positive contributions to the development of bilateral educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia. The leaders of China and Russia both attach great importance to teacher education and hope that the universities of China and Russia in the alliance will actively implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and carry out more extensive cooperation in the future.
Alexei Lubokov, President of Moscow State Pedagogical University, and Zhou Zuoyu, Vice President of Beijing Normal University delivered speeches on behalf of the secretariat of the alliance. It is hoped that the meeting and forum of the alliance can continuously improve the quality of the construction of the alliance, promote the sharing of high-quality resources and achievements of the two sides, promote the exchanges and cooperation between universities in deeper and wider range, and make greater contributions to enhancing the friendship between the Chinese and Russian people and promoting the common development of education of the two countries.
During the forum, Professor Chen Li, Former Vice President of Beijing Normal University, and Professor Yelena Borisovna Puchkova, Professor of Moscow State Pedagogical University, and other experts from the two sides exchanged views and discussed the topics of “teacher education development in the era of epidemic” and “artificial intelligence and teacher education” respectively. Professor Gao Wei, Dean of School of Education Science of JSNU, participated in the discussion.
The Sino-Russian Education Alliance of Universities was founded in 2014 by Beijing Normal University and Moscow State Pedagogical University. The alliance is committed to gathering the strength of the high-level education colleges and universities in China and Russia, promoting the discipline construction and talent training of the two sides, providing suggestions for the development of education in both countries, and improving the common prosperity in China and Russia. After seven years of development, the alliance has expanded from the original 12 universities to 21, including 9 universities from China and 12 universities from Russia.
