Educational informatization and intelligent education are the core and cutting-edge research fields of educational technology domain, which are of great strategic significance to promote the modernization of education and promote the reform and innovation of education. The core contents include: the basic theoretical framework of intelligent education, the deep integration of information technology and subject instruction, the development, planning and policy making, international comparison research of educational information technology, intelligent technology of teaching and learning, management, evaluation of intelligent education, and the basic model and method of smart education service.
- Digital Learning Resources and Environment
The design, construction and application of digital learning resources and learning environment are basic and key factors to promote the deep integration of information technology and instruction practice. The core research contents of this direction include: intelligent curriculum design and development, mobile learning resource design and development, educational film and television programs, virtual simulation resources and environment design, learning resource construction mechanism and model design, application research of digital learning resources, models of resource and environment construction, digital campus/smart campus construction research, digital classroom construction research, maker-space and other intelligent learning environment design.
- Instruction Innovation and Practice Supported by ICT
The innovative application of intelligent learning resources, tools and technology in education practice is crucial to promote the sustainable development of information technology in education innovation. The core research contents of this direction include: innovation practice of the deep integration of information technology and subject instruction, massive open learning, innovation research of educational application of new media, intelligent education management by support of information technology, classroom teaching mode and method innovation by support of information technology, developmental evaluation based on big data, methods of intelligent learning, and professional development of intelligent and excellent teachers.
- Artificial Intelligence in Education
Focusing on the core issues and key technologies of knowledge production, cognitive principles and learning mechanism in educational information science and combining artificial intelligence technology and methods for original, basic, forward-looking and cross-cutting research, students will explore new concepts, theories and methods of basic research in educational science. The core research contents of this direction include: knowledge points tracking, adaptive learning, explanatory personalized learning recommendation, knowledge representing and domain knowledge map construction, educational test resource representation, machine reading comprehension and grading, learner cognition diagnose, learner modeling research, and privacy-oriented artificial intelligence technology application in education.
The program implements the system of advisor-responsibility, in which the student's advisor is the chief person responsible for his/her students, providing all the academic guidance. The program adopts the combination of curriculum study, research practice and degree thesis supported by individual advisor and the guidance of advisor groups. The specific approaches are as followings:

Taking “knowing, practicing and creating” as the basic principle, taking study-research-creation as the basic mode, we will vigorously enhance the scientific research ability, practical ability and innovation and creativity ability of graduate students so as to make them become outstanding professionals.

Students can start their graduate study after being accepted, which means they don’t have to wait till the first semester to begin. This plan will extend the program time by around 5 months.

Graduate students have to meet the following basic requirements within the designated academic years so that they can graduate and get the certificate of graduation.
1. Obey laws and regulations in China and rules and regulations in the university, have a rigorous learning style and good personalities.
2. Complete the course study stipulated in the training program within designated academic years, pass the examinations and obtain the prescribed credits.
3. Pass Third Level Test of HSK.
4. The dissertation passes the evaluation and defense.
