It aims to cultivate interdisciplinary high-level professionals of geographical science who meet the needs of national and local economic construction, social development, resource utilization and environmental protection research and application. The discipline is committed to cultivating all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical education, aesthetics and labor. The discipline has a solid theoretical basis, systematic professional knowledge and necessary practical skills. The discipline has an understanding of the development status and trend of the discipline, and has the ability to engage in scientific research, teaching work or independently undertake specialized technical work in its field.

The combination of course learning and dissertation work. Through course study and dissertation work, students can master the theoretical knowledge of geography systematically, and cultivate their ability to analyze and solve problems. The combination of individual guidance and collective training of the tutor group. Integration of on-campus and off-campus training. To improve the quality of postgraduate training, we should adopt various and effective methods, such as cooperative training and joint training, by referring to the experience of first-class universities at home and abroad.

The curriculum is divided into public courses, professional required courses and elective courses. Public courses should focus on improving the overall quality of graduate students, expanding academic horizons, and enhancing scientific research capabilities. Professional compulsory courses focus on improving the professional skills of graduate students, deepening and broadening graduate students' professional knowledge, and improving graduate students' ability to discover and solve problems. Graduate students have to meet the following basic requirements within the designated academic years so that they can graduate and get the certificate of graduation.

2 Complete the course study stipulated in the training program within designated academic years, pass the examinations and obtain the prescribed credits.

3 Pass Third Level Test of HSK.

4 The dissertation passes the evaluation and defense.
