Training Methods

The supervisor group responsibility system is implemented for the cultivation of postgraduates. The tutor group is responsible for the daily management of graduate students, the education of academic style and academic ethics, the formulation and adjustment of postgraduate training plans, the organization and arrangement of topic opening, and the guidance of scientific research and dissertations. In the process of postgraduate training, it is necessary not only to give full play to the guiding role of the tutor group, but also to pay special attention to the cultivation of postgraduates' self-study, independent work and innovative ability. The credit system is implemented for postgraduate courses, and the required credits must be completed before applying for a defense. In accordance with the requirements of the training plan and the principle of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, the tutor group will generally formulate a master's graduate training plan within 2 months of enrollment. The training plan shall be implemented after approval by the Graduate School.

Course Planning and Credit Requirement

The curriculum is divided into public courses, professional required courses and elective courses. Fundamental courses should focus on improving the overall quality of graduate students, expanding academic horizons, and enhancing scientific research capabilities. Professional compulsory courses focus on improving the professional skills of graduate students, deepening and broadening graduate students' professional knowledge, and improving graduate students' ability to discover and solve problems. Elective courses focus on providing students with more choices and a certain space for the development of students' personality. The total course credits should be no less than 28 credits. See the attached table for specific credit settings and credit requirements.

Graduation Requirements

Graduate students have to meet the following basic requirements within the designated academic years so that they can graduate and get the certificate of graduation.

1 Obey laws and regulations in China and rules and regulations in the university, have a rigorous learning style and good personalities.

2 Complete the course study stipulated in the training program within designated academic years, pass the examinations and obtain the prescribed credits.

3 Pass Third Level Test of HSK.

4 The dissertation passes the evaluation and defense.

School Introduction

The college has one provincial advantageous discipline (Geography) and one provincial key discipline (Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology), three first-class master's degree programs in geography, surveying and Mapping Science and technology, urban and rural planning, two second-class master's degree programs in land resource management and regional economics, and two master's degree programs in subject teaching (Geography) and electronic information (Surveying and Mapping Engineering). It has eight undergraduate majors, including geography science (Normal University), geographic information science, urban and rural planning, environmental science, landscape architecture, surveying and mapping engineering, land resource management, remote sensing science and technology. Among them, the major of geography science is the first-class major in the province, and the major of geography science is the key major in the Tenth Five Year Plan of the province. At present, there are more than 1000 undergraduate students and nearly 200 master students.
