Overview

Electrical Engineering and Automation major is a wide-caliber and comprehensive technical major being established according to the engineering guide professional catalogue of the Ministry of Education, involving fields of power electronics technology, computer technology, motor and electrical technology, information and network control technology and mechatronics technology. Its main features are combination of electrical engineering and automation, combination of strong and weak electricity, combination of electrician technology and electronic technology, combination of software and hardware, and combination of theoretical research and technology application. This major has some teaching and scientific research platforms including a national railway transportation information and control virtual simulation experimental teaching center, a provincial experimental teaching and practical education center, a municipal engineering and technology center, and a school-level education service robot research and development center, which has formed the characteristics of railway transportation as well as education service robot research and development and application, a professional training base serving the electrical engineering and automation field.

Students receive training in engineering technology foundation, scientific research and other comprehensive abilities. The training process highlights the characteristics of electrical engineering, reflecting the rapid development of the electrical industry and cross-discipline trends. Students are trained and cultivated in quality, competence and knowledge, and graduates are able to engage in design, development and management in the fields of electrical engineering and automation science and engineering.

Introduction to the School

The school takes students as the basis, attaches importance to the training of students' engineering practice ability, equips each undergraduate with tutors, earnestly carries out undergraduate science and technology innovation project training, career planning, internship practice, graduation design (thesis) guidance and international exchange and joint training activities, and integrates vocational ability appraisal and professional engineering certification into the training system, so that students' academic achievement and professional ability are consistent. In recent years, students have been awarded with more than 100 items in the above provincial level competitions such as the national electronic design competition, the national robot competition, and the national college student intelligent car competition.
