At 3:00 PM, March 18, 2019, professor Konari Uchida from the faculty of economics of Kyushu University, Japan, was invited to give an academic report in the conference room 316 of Business School. The report subject is Accounts payable and firm value: International evidence. The report was chaired by professor Li cunfang, dean of the Business School. Some teachers and students of Business School participated in the report.
At the beginning of the report, the dean of Li introduced research direction and academic achievements of professor Konari Uchida briefly to us. Then, he pointed out that professor Konari Uchida has rich experience with publishing and reviewing papers on international top journals. Later, professor Konari Uchida presented his latest research conclusion to us, that is, “Accounts payable has a positive impact on corporate value , and elaborated on the research process to reach this conclusion. Meanwhile, he emphasized the significance of rigor and carefulness in academic research. Finally, professor Konari Uchida, as an anonymous reviewer of international famous journals, shared some experience with the teachers and students, which benefited them a lot.
In the interactive part, teachers and students had a heated discussion with professor Konari Uchida on the publishing skills of international top journals,then had a passionately communication on hot issues in the field of economy and finance. Professor Konari Uchida, as a cordial and elegant scholar, left a deep impression on the teachers and students with rigorous and practical attitude of study.
At the end of the report, the dean of Li gave a high appraisal of the academic report, and expressed his sincere gratitude. He also hoped that teachers could learn from professor Konari Uchida who pay attention to the orientation of academic research problem, the standardization, rigor and carefulness of the research process. Through these ways, teachers will get better innovative results.
