Objective

Research Fields
1. Sweet Potato Breeding and Biotechnology
Starting from the forming mechanism of new, featured and excellent sweet potato breed, this direction conduct sweet potato high-yield and anti-aging quality molecule system and breed evaluation, providing solid genetic theoretical support for new breed.
2. Sweet Potato Product Development Biotechnology
Centering on secondary sweet potato metabolize and Biology evaluation and considering chronic inflammation injury is the important basis of aging and metabolic syndrome, this direction studies on the mechanism of natural products’ relieving inflammation like anthocyanin, technology of isolation and purification on active materials.
3. Sweet Potato Plant Biology
Focusing on the new technology of sweet potato high-yield anti-aging new theories, this direction promotes nutrient utilization, stress physiology mechanism and research on compound microorganism to provide biological theory and technological support for sweet potato production.

Postgraduate: 2 years (no longer than 4 years)

Cultivation Method
1. Tutorial System. Tutors are directly responsible for international students. 2 or 3 experts from outside of JSNU, together with JSNU tutors, consist of tutor group. They jointly help international students make study plan, organize reading report and thesis proposal, and guide dissertation.
2. Combining courses and scientific research. Through courses, students can master solid professional knowledge and forefront progress of discipline; through scientific study, students can understand team work and professional work.
