Objective
To cultivate students with a solid foundation of natural sciences, good knowledge of humanities and social sciences, strong foreign language comprehensive ability and broad international vision, and are trained in strict scientific thinking, professional theory and skills, and systematically obtainace in biological science and technology, and basic theory, knowledge and skills, so that can use the knowledge and skills acquired in university, scientific research institutions, biotechnology industry and related enterprises and institutions to engage in personnel training, scientific research, technology development and application, production management etc.

With the rapid development of life sciences and biotechnology, graduates of Biotechnology major have broad employment prospects. Graduates can engage in scientific research, technology development and management in related fields and institutions such as biotechnology, biomedicine, bio-agriculture, bio-manufacturing, bio-energy and food, and can also apply for postgraduate studies or apply to go abroad for further study in related fields. The postgraduate entrance examination rate of the 2019 graduates was 36.36%. Many students have been admitted to Southeast University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and other well-known universities for further their studies.
